Ballroom Dance Programs for
Children & Juniors
This program is designed to introduce children to the beautiful Ballroom Dance World! Teaching Ballroom Dance movements to young children will help them understand and build coordination, balance, musicality, communication and concentration.
The gradual introduction and instruction of Ballroom and Latin dances to children and teens will help them to gain self-confidence, build up good posture and move gracefully while continuing to build coordination and strength. Also, dancing with partners will teach them how to feel comfortable with the opposite sex.
Students interested in performing will have opportunities for solo and group numbers at showcases, as well as performing at local schools, community and senior centers. In-studio competitions are another fun way for students to get out and demonstrate their dance achievements.
Classes will run for 10 consecutive weeks from Wednesday, February 1, through Wednesday, April 4, 2012.
9:15-10 a.m.: “Mommy and Me”
Spend unforgettable time with your child by learning simple basic movements, rhythm of the Ballroom Dance music,
stretching exercises and a lot of physical activity and much more. Children ages 18 months - 3 years.
10:15-11 a.m.: “Little Dancers”
The music and dance of the Waltz, Cha-Cha, and Quickstep. For children ages 3 – 4 years.
11:15 a.m.-12 noon: “Young Dancers”
The music and dance of the Waltz, Cha-Cha, Quickstep, Jive. For children ages 4 – 5 years.
4-4:45 p.m.: Group Class
Waltz, Cha-Cha, Quickstep, Jive. For children ages 5 – 7 years.
5-5:45 p.m.: Group Class
Waltz, Cha-Cha, Quickstep, Jive, Swing. More instruction on technique, connection and difficult combinations. For children ages 8
– 10 years.
Fees: Members: $120 for 10-week session; non-members: $150 for 10-week session.

Instructors
Sergei and Olga Bezrodnov
Since their arrival in the United States more than twelve years ago, Sergei and Olga Bezrodnov have made a name for themselves in the upper echelons of Dancesport in this country. They have gone from being newcomers on the scene here (although they were champions in their region in Russia) to being regular finalists in both the Rising Star Professional Standard and the Open Professional Standard competitions where the best dancers from all over the U.S. vie for top honors.
Throughout the years, they have won the coveted first place award in half-a-dozen championships, including the Constitution State Challenge, the First Coast Dancesport Championship, the Empire State Ballroom Championship, the Tri-State Challenge, the Montreal Dancesport Rising Star Standard Championship, and the Atlanta Open Dancesport Rising Star Championship.
They have been finalists several times in the most prestigious and hotly-contested competitions in this country, including the United States National Rising Star Professional Standard Dancesport Championships in Miami, Florida. They have been singled out for praise by a number of judges writing in various Dancesport publications such as Dance Beat, where they were described as a couple with unlimited potential and an unusual understanding of the dance.
Workshop and Class Policies:
The Watchung Arts Center’s classes are filled on a first-come first-served basis. Registrations are accepted when they are accompanied by a completed registration form and payment in full.
Refund Policy: 3 or more weeks prior to start of classes, full refund less $25 registration fee. Up to 2 weeks prior to start of classes, 50% refund. No refunds thereafter. Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will be rescheduled.
Payment by check or money order only (or PayPal, below) (please make payable to Watchung Arts Center). You will be contacted by the Instructor prior to class.
Adult Ballroom Dance Programs
Experienced professional instructors will get students out on the dance floor FAST, looking and feeling confident and assured. This proven system of instruction has helped thousands of students — even those with two left feet — to dance quickly and easily. Singles and couples welcome — no partner necessary with group lessons for adults and juniors and a special program for adult beginners. Competitive students will receive expert instruction. Parties, performances and special events available by request.

Learning a new skill, moving to music, and acquiring grace and poise will enhance your life. Whether it’s the traditional waltz or a spicy salsa, expert instructors can have you out on the dance floor in just a few lessons. No more sitting out at weddings and celebrations.
Dance lessons in all the social dances will allow students to feel comfortable on the dance floor in any situation. Also planned are regular dance parties where participants can have fun practicing skills with other students, teachers and dancers who come from outside the WAC program.
Classes will run for 8 weeks from Wednesday, February 1 through Friday, March 21, 2012. Friday night classes/social clubs will not run on February 10 or March 16.
Wednesday Adult Programs
7:15-8 p.m.: Argentine Tango - Absolute Beginners Group Class
Argentine Tango dance is essentially walking with a partner and the music and with a few basic principles
and couple figures students are on their way.
8:15-9 p.m.: “Classic Ballroom” - Absolute Beginners Ballroom Group Class
Learn beautiful dances like Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Quickstep and Venice Waltz. Learn popular combinations and proper
position of the body. Learn basic principles of the music and how to lead and follow a partner on the dance floor.
Singles and couples welcome — no partner necessary.
9:15-10 p.m.: “Latin Jam” - Absolute Beginners Latin Group Class
Learn to Cha-Cha, Salsa, Rumba, Swing, Samba, Meringue and other feel-good dances from the Latin Group! Start with
the easiest motions and move into several basic figures. Dance with different partners during class and learn how
to lead and follow. Singles and couples welcome — no partner necessary.
Fees: Members: $120 for 8-week session or $20 walk-in per class; Non-Members: $160 for 8-week session or $25 walk-in per class†.
Friday Adult Programs
1:30-2:15 p.m.: “Social Ballroom Dance Club” Dance Class
2:15-3 p.m.: “Social Ballroom Dance Club” Dance Social
COME AND DANCE!!! This is a perfect opportunity to get together with your friends or meet new people and spend a
relaxing afternoon Ballroom Dancing. In the first half of the session learn the social ballroom dance steps of the
Waltz, Cha-cha, Tango, Rumba, Swing and much more. Also gain understanding of how to connect your movement with the
music. The second half of the session is the fun time! Time to enjoy the music and try out your new dance steps
to the beautiful Ballroom Dance melodies!
Social Ballroom Dance Clubs are run on a walk-in basis. Please check our website for class dates. There will be no classes on February 10 and March 16.
Fees: “Ballroom Dance Club” Dance Class and Dance Social - $15 per person each week.
8-8:45 p.m.: “College Students Ballroom Club” - Group Class for Young Adults*
Learn Ballroom and Latin dances and spend time with your friends. In just a few classes you will understand
the music and discover basic combinations for the most popular dances like Salsa, Hustle, Swing, Cha-Cha,
Foxtrot, Tango, Waltz and more. *Starting at age 16.
9-9:45 p.m.: “Dance for your Wedding” - Wedding Dance Group Class
Step out onto the floor for your first dance as husband and wife looking polished and elegant. Learn a special
dance choreographed for you to fit most popular songs. Enjoy the confidence of knowing your first dance together
will be a magical moment to be treasured forever.
Fees: Members: $120 for 8-week session or $20 walk-in per class; Non-Members: $160 for 8-week session or $25 walk-in per class†.

Payment for all Dance Class Registrations
Payments are made securely through PayPal. If you are a member of the Watchung Arts Center, you may register for the WAC member price. Or, add a membership to your order and become a member today!

The shopping cart opens in a separate window; you can go back and forth between this page and your shopping cart to add as many registrations as you wish.
